We
picked up our travel documents about two weeks ago.
We
received a pouch of booklets and tags. The 48 page Itinerary and Departure
Information booklet (ending with the Passenger Ticket Contract), had two
important pages listing our flights, hotel and river cruise reservations, no
actual tickets. The pouch also contained two other booklets – The Rhine &
Its Tributaries and The Danube – which described the sights, towns &
castles, along the route of rivers, canals and locks of our trip. Also in the
pouch was a one litre plastic bag to be used for aerosols and gels transported
in the carry-on case; a sticker to put on our outer clothing after we land in
Amsterdam, so that the Viking personnel can easily spot us; a leather luggage
tag; and two luggage ID tags to use for transferring the luggage from the hotel
to the Viking River Cruises ship stateroom.
We
will be flying to Amsterdam, Netherlands, from Toronto, Canada, on a KLM flight
taking about 7 ¼ hours to cross the Atlantic
Ocean. Included the time change, we leave about 11 p.m. and arrive the next day
about noon.
